Hollywood could only dream of making a Spider-Man movie with such a compelling story and the rest of gaming industry should take notes from here. It is as close to being perfect as one game can be.

Marvel's Spider-Man on a portable device is a dream come true. And while you will need to sacrifice battery to hit the golden 40, the payoff is well worth it.

Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered swings on to PC with a marvellous port which is undoubtedly the best way to play the former PlayStation exclusive.

Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered is a third-person action game set in an open world New York, where Peter Parker must try and stop the machinations of the dangerous villain Mister Negative. Along the way, plenty of other characters will turn up in a story that emulates the comics while also drawing inspiration from some of the key Spider-Man adaptations in other media. Included in this remastered version is The City That Never Sleeps, a three-part DLC pack covering a story taking place after the events of the main game, as well as some graphical and performance improvements.

Nixxes has done a great job adding some PC centric features for Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered and it runs well if you have a good machine. The reflections really add to the visuals and the gameplay is tight. There are a few bugs here and there and DLSS isn't working correctly. Get this on the PC if you haven't played it.

Almost perfect if not for the nitty-gritty. If it’s quite there but not enough to push the boundaries, it’s still an awesome game.

A mostly good port of a mostly good game

Marvel’s Spider-Man is one of -- if not the best -- adaptation of a comic book franchise, and the PC version only better highlights Insomniac’s work. Nixxes has helped completely revitalize the four-year-old game where you’ll want to completely revisit fifteen-hour adventure. It’s visually spectacular with a lot of bells and whistles you’ve come to expect from PC-developed AAA titles, the keyboard and mouse transition works flawlessly -- not to mention the gameplay holds up -- and ultrawide screen support goes a long way. The remaster isn’t without its faults, though, as windowed mode is limited, we did run into performance issues while running raytracing (at least more than usual) and drawing the environment can get finicky with fast camera movements. Still, Marvel’s Spider-Man is spectacular beyond bounds. Whether you’re a comic book or PC gaming enthusiast, Marvel’s Spider-Man is well worth experiencing for the first time or once more.

Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered is one of the best superhero games of its generation, and the move to PC gives it an arsenal of new settings to play with. While the frame rate can fluctuate a bit, the fact that it hits the marks advertised and even exceeds them is good news for everyone that owns a computer and is worried they might fall short. Ray tracing is a dream, and while expensive shows the prowess of Insomniac and Nixxes. Even better, this game is available on the go, Steam Deck ready at launch. Just being obtainable would be enough for most, but the above and beyond approach taken in this project is one Peter Parker himself would look at and smile.

With fantastic graphics and, ahem, spectacular gameplay, this is the best Spider-Man game ever. The performance isn't quite what I'd hoped, and some of the contrivances regarding enemy types get on my nerves, but this is a game that every Spidey fan needs to play.

Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered is without a doubt the definitive way to experience this excellent Spider-Man game for newcomers as well as returning fans. The new Peter might take some getting used to, but you’ll forget all about him when you’re thwiping through New York at 60FPS.

If you’ve never played Marvel’s Spider-Man...what have you been doing the last two years!? But your procrastination has paid off, because the remaster is a much better way to play thanks to the PS5’s fantastic lighting effects and loading times. Even as someone who platinumed the original, it’s a treat to revisit this improved New York City. The gameplay itself feels largely unchanged, but that still leaves you with a spectacular Spider-Man adventure, with all its additional content, that’s also one of the best superhero games ever made, and a visual treat to kick off the PS5 era.
