Palworld is one of the most unique games in the survival genre, which is often generic and repeating the same elements in almost every other title.

Palworld | PC Review | Creature collection, survival, and Pal-worker exploitation: our review of this summer's phenomenon.
A clever blend of Pokemon-style creature collecting and a traditional co-op survival game.
Palworld 1.0 is crammed with new content. More Pals, better quests, and a fully realized world for new and returning players to explore.
Palworld is taking the internet by storm, but how do legally ambiguous pocket monsters hold up overall? Check out our review in progress.
Palworld, which emerged in 2024 as a survival game with a unique tone and legal controversy, proves to be rich in mechanics, but still technically immature.
Palworld is an open world survival crafting game with creature collecting elements that is both unique and fun at a cheap price tag!

It’s been a long road for Palworld. The game launched into early access back in January 2024, meaning it’s been a full two and a half years since we first saw the absurdity that is a legally distinct Pokémon-with-guns.

That also means it’s been more than long enough for the novelty to wear off. I remember discovering the “butcher” mechanic, which allows you to disassemble captured Pals for par
Palworld is a game of bare minimums, unscrupulous and soulless, designed by the numbers to hit all the right notes to keep you hooked on its addictive catch-grind-craft loop.
I can’t recommend Palworld enough. If you’re sick of the monotony of other creature collectors and are looking for something deep and expansive, then look no further. Palworld offers a rich experience, full of charm, humor, gorgeous vistas and breathtaking moments. Not only will you find something bold and inventive, but you’ll find something you’ll want to come back to again and again. I reckon that Palworld is the start of something pretty ground-breaking, and if I were a certain other developer, I’d be quaking in my boots.
There are simple pleasures to be found in Palworld's enormous list of crafting tasks, but look beyond its base building and its world, monster taming and combat all feel quite stale and undercooked.
Palworld is a strange and obliviously cruel game that nonetheless shows effort and some real thought running through its core design. Consequently, the end result (so far) is an arguably-functional hybrid of several proven formulas that still can't help feeling like a tonal car crash.
