Resident Evil 6
Resident Evil 6 is the ninth video game installment in the Resident Evil series. It continues the struggle against zombies infected by the new highly virulent C-virus. The game uses the same over-the-shoulder view as Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5, however with a new gameplay mechanic that allows players to slowly move while shoot. Players can...

Hordes of undead shamblers have been chasing our delicious brains so regularly across games, movies and TV shows recently that they barely register so much as a shiver any more.
But it’s also important to highlight that the fundamental issues with the game are still here. Yes, it runs at a steady and responsive 60fps. Yes it represents tremendous value for money. But there are some times where the pacing is quite off – a far cry from the perfectly honed Resident Evil 4 and 5. If you can put these things aside, and go into Resident Evil 6 willing to learn the intricacies of the games fluid and varied combat systems, Resident Evil 6 is a fantastic buy.
Evolution and ambition are only natural for a franchise as old as Resident Evil, as is the need to respect a long-lasting legacy and the fans that have come to appreciate it. But in trying to serve all masters, Resident Evil 6 loses focus and fails to accurately assess which of its elements are truly worthy of being included. When this game is at its height, it sets new standards for the series in every way. Unfortunately, there are no shortage of lows either, taking what could have been an excellent experience and making it something considerably lesser.
Resident Evil 6 has its fair share of issues, that much is certain. The story has so much left unexplained in the actual playthroughs that even devoted fans of the series will be left unsatisfied with everything that transpires. The controls have been updated from Resident Evil 5 and in most cases they don’t feel right. However for all that the single player content lacks, the multiplayer, although currently limited, can be quite enjoyable. With the inclusion of events from RE.net, the repl...
Resident Evil 6 polarizes you between beauty and boredom. Capcom has strayed too far from survival horror, in turn has alienated some long time fans of the series.
Overall, Capcom were just too ambitious with Resident Evil 6, and unfortunately this port doesn’t really do anything to address any of its glaring issues. As such, it truly is a wasted opportunity to restore fans’ faith in the series as it continues forwards. Despite it all however, if you can live with the shoddy controls, ridiculous story and sickening emphasis on action, Resident Evil 6 can still be quite enjoyable, especially when played in co-op. In the end though, there’s no getting over the fact that this is one of the weakest games in the series, and even with its massive amount of con...
I didn't think it was possible but the Resident Evil games have gotten as loud, dumb and tiresome as the Resident Evil movies. Overcomplicated mechanics, a confusing, schizophrenic campaign split four ways and a ridiculous plot that doesn't just break suspension of disbelief but blends it into a smoothie make Resident Evil 6 a real chore to get through.
The Resident Evil franchise is still looking for another break out game that will bring the feelings of Resident Evil 1,2 and 4 back. This game is unfortunately not that game. Stay clear unless you are a hardcore Resident Evil fan. If you don't, you will probably have a bad time.
How did this happen? No, really – how did this happen? Resident Evil 6, the most recent numbered entry in Capcom's iconic survival horror series, is an unmitigated mess – a real turd of a game that's so downright bad that it beggars belief. You'd think that with the series celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, the publisher would have preferred to let this stinker decompose alongside other rotters like Operation Raccoon City and Dead Aim, but that financial hole that the Japanese publisher's found itself in is a deep one, so here's a remastered PlayStation 4 version of one of the worst t...
The atmosphere is amazing at times.
There was a time when zombies were actually something of a novelty in games, and not the enemy of choice in practically every shooter ever made ever, ever. Ever. Resident Evil stood out as something distinctive and fresh back in 1996 when it was originally released, but Resident Evil 6 is no ordinary Resident Evil game. But then arguably neither were Resident Evil 4 and 5, since they bucked the series staples and went third-person. Back in the 90s, Resident Evil conjured images of something v...
