Superdimension Neptune vs. Sega Hard Girls Reviews
Professional reviews from gaming critics
More than anything, the pacing of Sega Hard Girls is so incredibly spot on. It’s a game that’s easy to play for short bursts of time, as missions and dungeons tend to be compact, and there aren’t the long cut scenes to sit through. With so many JRPGs being so self indulgent – even when based on silly concepts – it’s a welcome remedy to be able to sit down blast through some nonsense fun without thinking about it too much. Even in comparison to some of the previous Hyperdimension games, which seemed quite determined to mix in some serious messaging amoung the silliness, this latest…
Superdimension Neptune VS Sega Hard Girls brings with it all the comedy and combat elements that fans of the series remember and then some but dips a bit too deep into familiar territory in other areas.
It's hard to know what to expect when it comes to the Hyperdimension Neptunia series. This spin-off features classic characters from the series plus the cast of Sega Hard Girls so get ready for one crazy adventure!
In this RPG adventure, our usual heroine of the Neptunia series, Neptune, is transformed into a motorcycle and now IF, who has always been supporting Neptune from the side, must take main stage!
Despite the majority of Neptunia games being of a mediocre quality, I do have a certain affinity for them at this point. Somehow Compile Heart’s role-playing game series has spanned four main entries, even more spin-offs, and several enhanced remakes. Considering I’ve ended up reviewing most of these titles, it’s safe to say that I’ve been through a lot with Nep Nep and her friends over the years.
If you’re a fan of the series, picking up Superdimension is a no-brainer. If you’ve new to it, though, I’d say this title is a pretty good entry point. The story is unrelated to the mainline games, and with the plot staying relatively grounded in the opening hours, you can ease yourself in before it smacks you with the brand of comedy the series is so well known for.
Superdimension Neptune Vs Sega Hard Girls is a great addition to the series along with other great games. With new characters and gameplay mechanics added to the franchise, there isn’t really anything holding this game back. Though the next mainline game in the series is far-off, there is already another game on its way to the west — hopefully the Sega Hard Girls will appear again.
