House Flipper 2 is a wonderful house-management game that deserves a far better console port than the one it got. Based purely on the content of the game itself, impressive sandbox offerings and relaxing gameplay come together to make an umatched experience on those merits. Despite this praise, House Flipper 2 has been saddled with an archaic control scheme that results in what was meant to be a relaxing alternative to busywork, became far too finicky and irritating in places that my relaxation was significantly dented. While it certainly is playable, it isn't how I would recommend the game to...

Playing House Flipper 2 often requires precise placements and movements, and using the controller can be a bit of a frustration at times. The PC version also includes controller support, so this is not a new way of playing, and there are settings to adjust the controller sensitivity, as well as different options for "snap to grid" or "precise placement." Unfortunately, these don't quite solve the problem of it being incredibly difficult to place things in the same way as one would with a mouse.

Though I could use a bit more hand-holding, with endless options for style and gameplay, House Flipper 2 stands to be one of the best building sims I’ve tried. If some of the controller and grid issues are addressed on Xbox, it will be something truly remarkable.

The music isn’t memorable nor is it ever in the way. It’s a game I routinely had the sound turned down for as it was my go-to chill out as I listened to The Dollop or watched a Jaboody stream, title. It’s pleasant sounding musak that fits the vibe. I ran into no bugs, with my only issue being a lack of precision when using a controller.

Despite the limited content and somewhat fiddly controls, the game feels great to play. It's endlessly satisfying to turn a neglected garbage heap back into a happy home. The sandbox mode in House Flipper 2 offers lots of creative opportunities and the ability to share with fellow flippers is a big bonus, and will hopefully help the game build an ongoing community. Fingers crossed that more content comes down the road to provide players with even more possibilities.

A fantastic, stress-free game to relax with, House Flipper 2 may take a few steps back in some areas, but takes huge strides forward in others.
Read Full ReviewWhile I encountered a few bugs and a little bit of jankiness as I made my way through the game, I consider it to be an acceptable trade-off when it comes to being so engaged and delighted by something I waited so long to play. Empyrean has earned my loyalty in the past with tons of community-driven improvements and DLC that expands the base game in a very compelling way. I have no doubt in my mind that this is yet another game that the development team will quietly build upon for years to come, ensuring that I will always...

The original House Flipper was released more than five years ago on Steam, and was one of the most interesting success stories of that year. In theory, it should have been a flop: it was completely comprised of premade store assets, it was made on a tight budget by an unknown team, it had little to no pre-launch promotion, and it was glitchy as hell. Yet, against all odds, that game proved to be a hit thanks to its simple but relaxing gameplay loop: clean houses, fix them up, sell them for a ...

House Flipper 2 is the aptly named follow-up to 2018’s House Flipper, developed in Poland by Red Dot Games, Empyrean Games and published by Frozen District. Development for the sequel started all the way back in 2020 and the size of the development team has more than doubled compared to the first game. House Flipper 2 is built from a new code base, meaning this one has got the full flip treatment itself and is brand spanking new from the ground up.

Let me start off by saying I’m not usually the kind of person to play, let alone enjoy, the kind of simulation games that gamify a difficult and work-heavy concept. Enter House Flipper 2, a game that makes the hard work of cleaning and renovating homes an honest-to-god relaxing and enjoyable experience. House Flipper 2 accomplishes this by simplifying the actions of everything you do.

A marked improvement over the already-beloved House Flipper, House Flipper 2 allows you to get more immersed in the relaxing thrill of house renovations than ever before. Some quality of life changes take previous frustrations away, streamlining processes and allowing players to focus on what’s important. That, coupled with a face lift that makes House Flipper 2 look absolutely gorgeous, makes this a must-play for any sim fan. If only cleaning and renovating my real-life house was so enjoyable…

While the game could use a tiny bit more polish and perhaps some DLC, there is still plenty to enjoy in House Flipper 2. Fans of the original should have no trouble diving back into the house-flipping business, with an enhanced set of tools to help get the job done. Sandbox mode opens up new creative possibilities while adding a social element to the game that will only get better as more players get involved. Despite its shortcomings, House Flipper 2 keeps me coming back for more, and I can only hope there will be more to come back to...

While there is a lot of potential in House Flipper 2, it hits too many stumbling blocks that prevent it from achieving greatness. If you don’t bother with sandbox mode, at least in its current state, and opt to rush through the restrictive story mode quests, house flipping itself is good fun. So perhaps House Flipper 2 should just stick to its name and what it does best.

However, if players looking to play House Flipper 2 don’t have a powerful gaming PC, it may be better to wait until the game becomes available on PlayStation and Xbox consoles in March, as the current requirements could be hindering for those without gaming machines. Despite this, it is a must-have for simulation fans, and one I plan to dedicate unfathomable hours to in the coming months.

Although I can't see it ever becoming a sensation that manages to attract people who don't care for its genre, House Flipper 2 will surely become a reference among those looking for a casual, relaxing, house-flipping simulator.
