I understand, I understand. It’s games. We ought to, sometimes, suspend our disbelief for the sake of genre. But when that genre is already so oversubscribed it could fill a cosplay hall and still need to hire a marquee to house another hundred Gaslight Catwomen standing outside on the pavement, does the good grace of that disbelief extend to yet another genetic replica of Defense of the Ancients? Sadly, I don’t think so. Uninstall this game? I probably will.

Enter DC Comics with Infinite Crisis, a game that allows players to step into the boots, spandex and outside underpants of some of the DC expanded universe’s greatest heroes and villains. This all comes in a package that feels, well, a lot like most other MOBAs you may have played, with a couple of interesting twists and the undeniable appeal of duking it out with the likes of Superman, the Green Lantern, the Joker, the Flash, Sinestro, Swamp Thing, and oh, so many more.

I like Infinite Crisis, especially Coast City, but I just wish there were an easier way to play more of it. Having tools to learn new Champions and strategies is important in MOBAs, so it’s confusing that more bot modes aren’t available, especially when all but one queue is closed. Still, Infinite Crisis is a fun experience and does interesting things with the standard MOBA roles, though the assassin class feels like it has too much an advantage over the others. Stolen Powers help balance this a little bit, and they’re fun to use in Infinite Crisis’ comic book-like environment.

Infinite Crisis is a pretty good MOBA as it is fun and easy to pick up. Its sort of on the easy side though with most Champions stronger than the others it needs a bit of tweaking. With its memorable cast people will quickly familiarize themselves with the characters and most of them are pretty fun to play. With the game just recently released it still needs more content and constant tweaking. Hopefully the meta will be flexible and wont stay stale. Its a good pick up for DC and MOBA fans alike.
