Throughout the entire game, I couldn’t push the elation I was feeling out of my mind. Even when the game got hard or I died on the last level of a node, there is an undeniable amount of megalomaniacal fun to be had when time bends to your will. Mind Control Delete is an improvement on everything that made the original Superhot great.

SUPERHOT: MIND CONTROL DELETE is one of a select few games that forces you to earn the right to feel like a demi-god and one that offers the best gameplay this side of its predecessor.

In the end, Superhot: Mind Control Delete is simply an amazing title. Back in 2016, SUPERHOT really was the most innovative shooter we’d played in years, and four years on, the series is still as exciting as ever. With new levels, cool weapons, more creative settings and excellent sound design and music, there’s nothing quite like it. Superhot: Mind Control Delete is what fans of the original have been waiting for – and it more than delivers. Pick it up now; play more, win more and uncover the secrets waiting for you.

This spin on the Superhot formula includes a ton of new improvements and features. With an confusing but excellent story and trippy slow mo action, FPS fans will find much to enjoy with Superhot: Mind Control Delete.

The first-person shooter genre is well-worn territory, but 2016’s Superhot effectively innovated by creating a unique scenario where the action only unfolds when you move. The result was a more strategic, almost puzzle-like shooter, giving you time to plot your next move as you act as a one-person wrecking crew. Superhot: Mind Control Delete uses a variation on this formula; you’re still clearing rooms of heavily armed enemies, but now you have access to myriad gameplay modifiers and new abilities within a roguelike format, elevating this sequel beyond the original.

Taking Superhot's amazing and addictive gameplay and expanding it in several directions, Superhot: Mind Control Delete feels exactly right.

July 30, 2020 Read Review

SUPERHOT was originally released in 2016 and it quickly became one of the most celebrated games of the entire generation due to its striking art style and innovative “time only moves when you move” gameplay loop. It was loved by everyone, but there was a nearly universal complaint regarding its length. Sure, the game was filled with unlockable endurance modes, but its incredibly interesting campaign lasted for little more than two hours. The SUPERHOT developers have been hearing the same ...

It’s a game that will have you striving to get through the levels to unlock more hacks and cores, but the endless mode is where it really lets you go to town on everything you’ve unlocked. If you were a fan of the original, you’ll be right at home in Superhot: Mind Control Delete.

Superhot’s standalone expansion Mind Control Delete is a great example of how to achieve growth, drive your franchise forward and prevent an admittedly pretty basic concept from going stale. Before I knew I was ready for a change, Superhot Team thrust age-old video game tropes into gaming’s most unique shooter in ways only they could and, in a crazy twist, it works.

This standalone expansion to SUPERHOT is a welcome addition to the formula. What it lacks in bespoke puzzle elements, it makes up for in a completely fresh and vastly expanded approach to the central concept.

Superhot: Mind Control Delete takes the action puzzles of the original game and throws a wealth of new abilities and weapons into more randomised levels. It takes the core Superhot concept and puts a fresh spin on things. It's a shame that it's let down a little by some technical issues, as it's the best version of Superhot's unique gameplay to date.

Superhot Mind Control Delete is a long-time announced… and also, a long-time coming. First mentioned close to three years ago, a surprise announcement today revealed that the title will arrive on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4 in just one week’s time. Better yet, the standalone expansion goes free to those who already own the original.

July 10, 2020 Read Review

Superhot: Mind Control Delete somehow manages to give a lot more of the same slow-mo action without becoming tiresome or boring. However, things do get bogged down towards the end when the game has a little too much fun at the player's expense.

July 9, 2020 Read Review

Superhot: Mind Control Delete’s focus on improvisation and rogue-lite elements excellently complement its “time moves only when you move” core gameplay loop and distinctive aesthetic, making it a first-person shooter that fans of the genre shouldn’t miss.

Years after its debut, we finally have a follow-up to the innovative first-person shooter so get ready for some reality-altering fun.

If you wanted more of the same then Superhot: Mind Control Delete's idiosyncrasies will probably frustrate you more than entertain, but if you look beyond them you'll find a wickedly addicting game beneath. Mind Control Delete may rely too heavily on rolling the dice to extend its playtime, but fans willing to put their qualms aside will discover yet another fine entry in the series.

Superhot directly told people it was one of the most innovative shooters of all time, but it was right. Tying the movement of time to physical movement intelligently blended strategy and action and made every level unfold like a YouTube compilation of John Wick’s most impressive scenes. Superhot: Mind Control Delete is the follow-up expansion that notably expands upon the main title’s undeniable style and even though it does so cleverly in some areas, the game as a whole ends up being MORE in ways that begin to suffocate its simplistic foundation.

I missed out on the original Superhot game/s so if that impacts this review so be it... I kind of feel that the main gist of the games was pretty clear though

July 23, 2020 Read Review

SUPERHOT is still a very enjoyable game. Indeed, I would argue that since I reviewed the original in 2016, it has aged exceptionally well. Since then, there has been a VR release of the original game and towards the end of 2017, the SUPERHOT: MIND CONTROL DELETE standalone expansion was released into early access. A little over two and a half years later and I'm finally getting to play the finished product and the question is "do I like it?" I do. However, that comes with a few caveats.

After four years of boiling in the background as an Early Access title, SUPERHOT: MIND CONTROL DELETE has sprung upon us. The successor to the action movie slow-motion simulator extravaganza SUPERHOT began as a humble DLC. Now with full realisation, MCD offers a “refined, sharper, flashier experience” than any of the games so far. But, with more power, more mechanics, and more enemies to slash through; is “more” worth it?

SUPERHOT: MIND CONTROL DELETE questions the player’s return and then splinters into a more expansive experience than ever before. Here’s our review.

July 22, 2020 Read Review

I’m not sure what comes next, or if the Superhot team has squeezed the last drop of blood from the franchise, but Mind Control Delete is a fascinating remix of the concepts that made the first two games so influential.
