Story and Gameplay The Outer Worlds 2 takes everything that worked in the first game and just… makes it better. Sharper writing, tighter quest pacing, smarter choice outcomes, more interesting companions. This is Obsidian showing they are still one of those rare studios that gets better with every

Obsidian Entertainment has built a mood with The Other Worlds series. It’s one that positions corporations, executive manipulation, and rampant consumerism as a plague that haunts humanity well into our future in space, but in dark comedic fashion. The vibe continues into The Outer Worlds 2 where those nasty old mega companies are at it again, but I’ll claim that even if you’re over the joke, The Outer Worlds 2 does a lot more than just keep telling it. It also offers a rewarding and varied space adventure that sits nicely on an upgraded foundation of solid gunplay, enjoyable characters, and u...

The Outer Worlds 2 refines the overall Outer Worlds universe, pulling back on ridiculous and expanding into more human territory, while still keeping its satirical tongue firmly in cheek. Every system in the game has been refined, from greater control over character development to slicker and more impactful combat. This is a great RPG that firmly cements the franchise as a genre leader.

The Outer Worlds 2 is a more complete and mature sequel, and the best successor to Fallout: New Vegas after 15 years.

Obsidian is back with another installment of The Outer Worlds. As rifts begin to appear in the Arcadia Star System, you’ll work against or with different factions to save the galaxy. With deeper gameplay and progression systems, The Outer Worlds 2 is a step above its predecessor, but its companions

Back in 2019, Obsidian Entertainment did the unthinkable and gave us The Outer Worlds, a brand-new, narrative-driven RPG among the stars – a realisation of the “Fallout in space” dreams that have circled on message boards for over a decade. Set in a galaxy driven by capitalism and greed, you took an the role of a stranger in a colony beset by corporatist ideals that had become second nature to its people.

The Outer Worlds 2 asks the daring question: what if the true bad guys weren't the corporations, but the people who continued accepting their lies?

By building on the original’s foundations with more impactful decision-making and gameplay refinements, The Outer Worlds 2 feels like the Obsidian game that Fallout: New Vegas fans have craved for over a decade.

The Outer Worlds 2 stands out for its execution of role-playing game (RPG) mechanics and polished level design and skill system. Its story, featuring sharp satire and a wide variety of dialogue options, is enriched by unchanging progression, giving the game replayability. However, this ambition is hampered by unsatisfying combat, tedious open-world exploration, and a main storyline with memorable antagonists. Nevertheless, despite its flaws, The Outer Worlds 2 delivers an exhilarating experience…

Anyone who knows me knows that I love a good RPG game. Especially those that you might call a western RPG, such as the games built by studios like Obsidian. I have enjoyed almost every game that Obsidian has made in the last two decades. Which is why I was…

Obsidian builds on its RPG roots with The Outer Worlds 2, delivering a quirky space adventure focused on player choice and refined combat.

"The Outer Worlds 2 is an almost perfect sequel, building on the brilliance of its predecessor and addressing all the issues fans had with the original. The scope and scale of this sequel is the biggest win for fans, as there's oodles of content. But above all, the game delivers on the promise of a more emergent, nuanced RPG experience, complete with all the charm, deep worldbuilding, and sublime writing the series is known for. The downside is that combat, stealth, and various other action-focused pillars of gameplay don't deliver as they should. But, if you can get past this, you'll come to ...
