Luigi's Mansion 3 is a beautifully animated adventure with satisfying puzzles and gadgets; it suffers slightly for its length, but a deep well of charm and humour win the day.

It's not a huge, incredible entry with exciting new features and such. It is, however a fun little package with a lot of charm and humor. There's plenty to appreicate for all ages.

There’s always a place for perfectly average games. Everyone always sets up new releases as either the greatest or absolute garbage, and those that are just okay end up tossed aside. Exclusives are particularly susceptible, either a system seller or not worth looking at. Luigi’s Mansion 3 is exactly that kind of game. While a fun romp through a well designed setting, it doesn’t set itself apart or excel in any way.

Luigi's Mansion 3 is incredibly charming and the best evolution of the series to date. Every corner of the Last Resort Hotel has secrets and the gems can be incredibly difficult to find. If you're coming for the hilarious cutscenes, you'll stay to explore every floor of what this game has to offer.

Fun puzzles and some truly spectacular designs for each of Luigi's Mansion 3's hotel floors make it a fun title for any Switch owner. It's also visually spectacular, but the combat is a bit bland and multiplayer offers no fun.

While this is only our third Luigi’s Mansion game in nearly 20 years, a rarity for most of Nintendo’s other franchises, Luigi’s Mansion 3 is an experience that easily justifies the longer wait since Dark Moon. This full-fledged sequel delivers on just about every aspect from gameplay, to visuals, and especially to giving players a well-crafted, spooky adventure of puzzle-solving and exploration. Though I hope we get a return trip to the series sometime sooner rather than later, Luigi’s Mansion 3 shows better than ever that Luigi is more than capable of carrying his own game, even one that’s meant...

Luigi's Mansion 3 is almost non-stop fun and is another must-have for the Switch's library.

Luigi's Mansion 3 doesn't get the series where it needs to be, but it certainly moves it closer to that goal.

Luigi's Mansion 3's ScreamPark and ScareScraper modes could have used more content, but the main story still provides plenty of things for players to do. The filler at the end of it hurts the pacing, but players will have a blast with the game until they reach that point. Luigi's Mansion 3 is still an easy recommendation for Nintendo Switch owners or anyone looking for a fun local co-op game.

Luigi’s Mansion 3 has some flaws but don’t let them scare you away. This is another gem for the Switch and was a joy to play for someone like myself who adored the original.

While the 3DS title may have received mixed reception, Luigi's Mansion 3 is a wonderful return to form from the first title that does the series justice. It's on par, if not better, than the original simply because of the great atmosphere and wonderful puzzling challenge it brings. While fighting enemies isn't the most difficult thing ever, especially for older players, it's still fun and never overstays its welcome between exploring each and every floor in the haunted hotel. Luigi's Mansion 3 is an absolutely wonderful time that makes it easy to want to jump in and keep exploring the...

Luigi’s Mansion 3 shines in almost every way. Its levels are unique, expansive and detailed. You’ll never have a dull moment. And the humour is genuinely funny. Not that Mario games aren’t known for tidbits of humour, but the writers have really outdone themselves here. I laughed out loud when I accidentally revealed a ghost inside of a changing room who was as shocked as I was to have found him.

While it's about as scary as a Disney Halloween movie, Luigi's Mansion 3 is still a joy to play. First-timers and veterans alike will find their time well spent here.

While imperfect and still missing some of what made the original game a total masterpiece, it is both a worthy successor and a game worth waiting 18 years to finally have.

As a fan of the green younger Mario brother, I had a lot riding on Luigi’s Mansion 3. The original Luigi’s Mansion for the Gamecube is a very important game to me, and though that might seem weird, I’m not alone. It’s a beloved classic to its diehard fans, and among a sea of Mario games, it represented something different. Its 2013 sequel, Luigi’s Mansion 2: Dark Moon, improved upon the game in its technical aspects: the controls were smoother, the environments more animated and det...

After ridding several haunted mansions of their ghost infestations in the series’ first two games, the taller, goofier brother of Nintendo’s first family is ready for his biggest task yet: cleansing a whole haunted hotel. In Luigi’s Mansion 3, our hero grabs ghosts and solves simple puzzles on a mission to defeat King Boo and rescue Mario, Peach, and the Toads. With themed floors full of fun environmental puzzle and a ton of exciting encounters, this hotel is well worth checking into.

It leans too much in the direction of the original when it comes to the puzzles and difficultly level but this is still an utterly charming romp, with wonderfully inventive set pieces and gorgeous visuals.

Mario, it turns out, isn’t the only plumber in Nintendo’s employ who can carry his own great game. Luigi’s Mansion 3 is so much fun, so charming, and so smartly designed that, moving forward, I really hope we get more than three of these games every 20 years. It’s absolutely the best Ghostbusters game ever made – it just happens to star Mario’s scaredy-cat brother rather than Peter Venkman and Ray Stantz.

I enjoyed every moment of my time with Luigi’s Mansion 3 and while I’d have loved for the game to be a bit longer, I will say that it was nice to finally play a game without any kind of artificial endings. There aren’t any big surprises here, and that’s perfectly okay with me. If you’re looking for a fun, enjoyable, and hilarious adventure to add to your Nintendo Switch’s library, then you can’t go wrong with Luigi’s Mansion 3.

With a lot of gameplay enhancements from previous iterations, a gorgeously rendered game world, and a whole host more besides, Luigi’s Mansion 3 is easily the apex of the franchise. The sheer amount to see and do, along with the amount of adorable details, make this game a wonderful experience and one I would recommend. Sucking at games has (rarely) felt this good.

Some technical and control issues aside, I still think the 3DS version of Luigi’s Mansion is a solid option for newcomers or for people looking to revisit this GameCube classic. Catching various ghosts and completing Professor E. Gadd’s gallery is a perfect time burner on the go and Grezzo have done a solid job bringing Luigi’s Mansion to the 3DS. I just don’t know if I’d prioritize playing the 3DS version over the GameCube version in the future.

Who would have thought we’d still be opening our 3DS systems for new releases in 2018? Nintendo keeps pumping out game after game, keeping the system alive – this time with the remake of the 2001 beloved GameCube classic, Luigi’s Mansion.

Luigi's Mansion is a delightful little game, instantly appealing to anybody with more than a passing interest in its heritage, but it isn't the GameCube equivalent of those platform classics I name-checked at the start of the review. A competent, atmospheric adventure and truly a new direction for the characters, but at this length it simply isn't worth the £35, let alone the cost of the console. If Miyamoto's vision of shorter games more often is to become reality, then the pricing structure will need serious adjustment...
