It’s that time of year again; the time that everyone decides to take time off work, skip school, or ignore loved ones. That’s right, it’s Call of Duty time and the series returns with Black Ops 6. Although it’s been a few years since the Black Ops series has popped up, the last one being Black Ops Cold War, it doesn’t mean that this particular section of the (in)famous first-person shooter is any less respected by long time fans. There is a lot to go into with this release, and the ...

Another year, another Call of Duty, and that’s still not a bad thing. Activision has been generous enough to provide a sort of shared experience between games, permitting select DLC and weapons to carry over between titles, typically into the Warzone mode. As the first Black Ops title in four years, Activision and Treyarch have gone to show whether that wait has been worth it in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

While the Gulf War commands the global spotlight, a shadowy clandestine force has infiltrated the highest levels of the CIA, branding anyone who resists as traitors. Exiled from their agency and country that once hailed them as heroes, Black Ops veteran Frank Woods and his team find themselves hunted by the military machine that created them.

The Black Ops series has always held a special place in Call of Duty fans’ hearts, known for its darker themes and edgier storytelling. With Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Treyarch brings forward not just the series’ signature narrative style, but introduces a game-changing mechanic that could reshape the future of the franchise.

For a series built on high-octane thrills and explosive gratification, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6's withdrawal to the well-trodden formula echoes the wider industry's continued allergy to risk.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is the best entry in the series in recent history. With its impactful campaign, tense zombie mode, and highly addictive multiplayer. It's easy for me to see why Call of Duty is the king of multiplayer gaming.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is another solid entry in the long-running shooter series. Its excellent multiplayer suite is the biggest draw, while its single-player campaign and round-based Zombies mode serve mostly as disposable distractions.

A belligerently enjoyable sequel with stellar multiplayer and a campaign that can't stack up to the greats.

Spanning four years with the longest development cycle in the series’ history, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 expectations are high. This co-development has Raven leading the charge on a compelling single-player campaign while Treyarch brings its signature intensity to multiplayer and the fan-favourite Zombies mode. With a blend of nostalgia and innovation, Black Ops 6 revisits the series’ roots while pushing the boundaries of gameplay.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 stands out as one of my most enjoyable gaming experiences this year. It delivers nonstop entertainment with an engaging campaign, the return of the classic Zombies mode, and the always-popular multiplayer. However, it doesn’t break new ground and still feels very much like a traditional CoD title, Treyarch and Raven Software have created a refined and authentic Black Ops experience that’s a must-play for fans of the series.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is an incredible experience, especially to a first time campaign player, delivering real action in both its multiplayer and single-player offerings.

After last year's failure, Call of Duty returns to form in Black Ops 6. The new version shines with completely new movement mechanics that rule in multiplayer, and completely surprises with several motifs in the story campaign. And it's still on Game Pass!

There’s a good reason why Treyarch and Black Ops are so beloved by the Call of Duty community. The sub-franchise usually delivers the stronger campaigns, multiplayer and third modes in the series. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 does all of those things, especially when compared to the more recent Call of Dutys. The campaign, from Raven Software, may drop the ball at the end with its story, but it’s filled with fantastic characters and a wide variety of missions that help elevate it into must-play territory.

Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 is the complete package, a great single-player campaign, best in class first-person shooter gameplay, fun fast-paced multiplayer and the return of round-based zombies.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 stands tall on its reputation while delivering on expectations. World-class gunplay throughout, the incredible campaign, superb multiplayer, and excellent Zombies mode reach the heights you’ve come to anticipate from the Black Ops series. Treyarch, Raven, and all the studios behind it should be proud; this shot will be heard around the world.

One of the best Call Of Duty games in years, with one of the greatest campaigns in the franchise’s history, along with solid, if somewhat less ambitious, multiplayer and co-op modes.

Call of Duty is so back. A campaign that returns to form, the best multiplayer suite of the current console generation of COD's, and a chaotically fun Zombies mode. Black Ops 6 delivers in every way.

Nobody likes a quitter, and last year’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is proof of what can happen when you get your head down and work to right one’s wrongs. Heavily criticised as a glorified DLC, a year of unmatched support has seen the game rise from the ashes as one of the most robust, content-rich multiplayer offerings the series has ever seen.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is an outstanding first-person shooter package that offers a thrilling blockbuster campaign with some of the best graphics on the market. Its polished multiplayer is fast-paced and intense, bringing the franchise to new heights despite a few poorly balanced maps, and the cooperative zombies mode is the absolute best it’s been in years.

Modern Warfare III received a bad rap. You might think that with a Metacritic average of 56 out of 100 (based on 71 reviews), nobody is playing it, and it would be universally regarded as the worst Call of Duty game of all time—banished to bargain bins and deep discounts. However, that wasn’t the case at all. While the single-player experience was underwhelming, the multiplayer aspects were as strong as ever. I really enjoyed the open-world zombies experience, and that addictive battle pass kept me coming back daily. C’mon man, it certainly didn’t deserve a 56 Meta-score.

Black Ops 6 excels in delivering an adrenaline rush Campaign with the most variety of mission types we've ever seen in a Call of Duty game, featuring rock solid Multiplayer and Zombies modes, with a massive amount of content to dive into from the get-go.
Read Full ReviewOverall, then, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is a massive success for Xbox. This year's COD is packed with content across its three main modes, and Game Pass players will be able to enjoy this one for months - especially when additional seasonal content starts to release. Raven Software's campaign mode is a blast, multiplayer is the best it's been in years, and while Zombies isn't what it once was in our book, it's still a fun third mode to mess around with. If Call of Duty can continue to remain this high-quality each year, Microsoft has a winner...

Even before Black Ops 6 was released, it was being hailed as a possible turning point for the franchise. After jumping into the new multiplayer, Zombies, and campaign, Treyarch has delivered exactly that by embracing the new, while still celebrating the old.

With the best Call of Duty campaign in years, and a tweaked movement system that comes to life in multiplayer, Black Ops 6 is both a return to form and a great entry point for new or lapsed players. Just don't expect it to do anything interesting with the Gulf War setting.

Black Ops 6 does enough differently to stand out in the recent wave of Call of Duty games, bringing one of the best campaign and multiplayer modes in the long-running franchise. While we need to wait and see how Zombies pans out, it’s a solid entry - so much so, that I can say “Call of Duty is back”

It's hard to knock any Call of Duty title too terribly, especially one with as much polished content as Black Ops 6. This one simply aims to optimize and deliver on the pillar experiences of small-to-medium sized multiplayer maps with smaller player counts, core round-based zombies with a focus on rapidly powering up, and a beefy campaign which the last few franchise entries under-delivered on. The gameplay itself feels very good and Black Ops 6 is deserving of the series' legacy, knowing what players want and giving it to them, even if that means playing it a little safe regarding...

The Zombies, multiplayer, and campaign are all presented with impressive graphics that ensure Call of Duty remains one of the best-looking games on the market. Breathtaking lighting, highly-detailed maps, smooth as butter frame rate, and next-level audio design come together expertly, solidifying Black Ops 6 as the best Call of Duty game in years. Black Ops 6's post-launch support should mean that the game only gets better with time, but what's available at launch is already fantastic and will keep franchise fans entertained for months on end.

Call of Duty Black Ops 6 is a spectacular return to form, after Modern Warfare 3 fumbled blurring the line between expansion and sequel. We were ready for something different, and that’s exactly what it has delivered with speedy and satisfying multiplayer and a highly engaging and well-paced espionage thriller campaign that’s one of the best in the Call of Duty series.
