Featuring buttery smooth play, fans of first-person melee filled with impactful and meaty combat shouldn't hesitate to check out Valor Mortis.
A contrarian might say that Krakow-based studio One More Level was taking a leap of faith by trying to create a Souls-like with an FPP perspective... and yet their courage paid off.
Valor Mortis reinterprets the first-person soulslike with a Napoleonic setting, technical combat and excellent art direction.
With a genre as saturated as the soulslike action RPG, Valor Mortis feels like a breath of fresh air. While its conclusion isn't as strong as I would have preferred, One More Level's brand of first-person parkour and swordfighting is as captivating here as it was in the Ghostrunner series, and those looking for a soulslike with a new perspective will likely enjoy their time with Valor Mortis.

For the review, Hannah got to work on Valor Mortis, the Napoleonic first-person soulslike from One More Level.
A first-person soulslike from the makers of Ghostrunner wasn't a combo I'd ever think we'd get, but here it is. Valor Mortis takes FromSoftware's baby and
Valor Mortis is a simpler kind of Soulslike, even in first-person, but clashy, quality combat and 19th-century horror keep it sharp. Here's our full review.
