Control Resonant is another excellent addition to Remedy Entertainment's connected universe project. Never happy to simply rest on the laurels of their past successes, Remedy has delivered an all-timer that is both inextricably linked to 2019's Control, while also clearly marking its own territory. Dylan steps seamlessly into Jesse's shoes as an excellent lead character with a pitch-perfect performance from Sean Durrie, accompanied by a memorable cast old and new. Control: Resonance truly brings to life such a bizarre, fantastical, and impossible world.
Control Resonant | Review | Remedy returns to the Control universe with an ambitious, open-world sequel.
Hopefully this will help reduce Manhattan's rent prices.
Despite some big bugs, that doesn’t stop the momentum that Remedy Entertainment has built with Control Resonant. This is the sequel that fans have been desperately waiting for since 2019. While the gameplay has a slight tweak in the form of melee combat, the visuals and lore are expanded upon to deliver a breathtaking experience.
CONTROL Resonant is a fantastic follow-up that expands on almost everything that made the original great. Dylan becomes a compelling protagonist, melee combat offers impressive depth, traversal is a joy, and Remedy’s signature weirdness is as strong as ever. Some uneven difficulty, limited enemy variety, and occasional visual clutter hold it back slightly, but this is still one of Remedy’s strongest games.
The follow-up to 2019's Control, Control Resonant successfully builds upon the original while carving out an identity of it's own.
Control Resonant is an incredible Action RPG that feels like a worthy successor to its predecessor, but it isn't great to play on the Steam Deck.
A stunning paranatural epic with fantastic combat, Remedy's latest offers a compelling new narrative wrapped up in its signature weirdness.
The paranatural crisis has spread from the Oldest House to Manhattan, where Dylan Faden leads a melee-driven action RPG. Open zones, Resonant hunts, and Remedy's sound design give the sequel its own identity.
A mind-blowing, magnificent story that differs from its sibling to create its own unique work of art.
Final Weapon's review of Control Resonant, releasing soon for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.
Control Resonant surpasses its excellent predecessor thanks to its larger scope, both narratively and gameplay-wise. The melee-based combat is appropriately brutal and engaging, while the various skill trees offer a deep level of customization. Aside from some confusing maps, this is an almost perfect action-based title.

Remedy's new adventure bets on a larger scale, more dynamic combat, and a Manhattan where reality itself has ceased to make sense.
Control Resonant pushes the bounds of what Remedy Entertainment's quirky formula can achieve. An action-RPG that has a few growing pains, but sprouts into something monumentally special by the end.
Remedy approaches Control drastically differently, and it works to its benefit.
Control Resonant is one heck of a follow-up to Control, with a setting twisted by a paranatural force that's perverted Manhattan into a supernatural playground.
Control Resonant transforms Remedy's cult classic into a bigger, bolder action RPG that rarely misses, even if its performances fall short at times.
Review: Weird and ambitious, Remedy Entertainment's Control Resonant is one of the most memorable games you'll play this year.
Control Resonant pushes the mind-bending design of the first game to its extreme, and then pushes further still to create a masterpiece.

Control Resonant (PlayStation 5) Review – 8.5/10: Despite fumbles with its new melee combat and difficulty balancing, Control Resonant's storytelling, world, and bizarre quests kept me eager to explore its distorted New York. - Game Informer
Control Resonant is unmistakably a Remedy game - bizarre, ambitious, at times frustrating andoften inventive.
This is a review of CONTROL Resonant, which comes to Xbox, Playstation, and PC in September of 2026
Remedy is stepping out of their comfort zone and into a genre they've never done before. But they want to do it like no one else in the world. Will it work?
Control Resonant review - Remedy's direct sequel to 2019's Control is an open-ended action-RPG, and it surprisingly works.
Control Resonant is not a good sequel, because it is better than that! Read our full review.
Remedy takes us back to the twisted world of Control, but this time it adds superhero combat and open-world markers. The result is uneven, but when the surreal abstractions of this universe take over, Resonant truly shines!
Control Resonant throws you into a deeply yet beautifully warped Manhattan that's ravaged by supernatural entities, and its story is driven by good character moments. But the new hack-and-slash combat takes a while to grow into something fun.
We've played over 30 hours of Remedy's huge CONTROL Resonant, and so far, the sequel largely succeeds at its bold transformation.
Control Resonant goes big with a reality-defying New York.
You mustn't be afraid to dream a little bigger, darling
Remedy's follow-up to 2019's Control moves to action combat in an open world and tells a more character-focused story with its paranatural edge intact.
Control Resonant is a thrilling action/adventure RPG where you explore a warped Manhattan on the brink of paranatural annihilation.
Remedy returns with a bold and unconventional sequel: it's not without its uncertainties, but it has a lot of character.
Control Resonant pulls Dylan, Jesse’s brother and the game’s underused wildcard, out of his cell and into the city which is overrun by the Hiss, bringing us an expansion into Remedy’s strange, unsettling world which lives beyond the walls of the Oldest House.
Control Resonant reinvents Remedy’s formula with melee combat, flexible builds, gravity-bending traversal, and strong characters despite a weaker main plot.
Control Resonant is absolutely worth the wait. Some of the open-world aspects put strain on the exploration but, there’s enough curiosities and compelling events both in that world and in the combat design to recover every time fatigue begins to set in.
Control Resonant is Remedy at its most ambitious, turning Manhattan into a reality-bending playground that’s fascinating to explore.
With the trippiest of worlds, CONTROL Resonant's presentation and paranormally corrupted Manhattan headline an atmospherically standout experience. Further bolstered by strong combat fundamentals and a great but dizzying plot, RPGamers are sure to find something to resonate.
Remedy showcases all its visual and narrative strengths in a game that isn't afraid to offer a bit of friction in order to deliver something new in terms of level design and structure. Not all of its ideas work. The combat can become somewhat repetitive, and it lacks a stronger ending, but it's an experience that no fan of the CONTROL universe should miss.
Control Resonant Review - A Shapeshifting Rollercoaster Of Weirdness
Dylan Faden's journey to find his sister, stop the Hiss, and save Manhattan takes some big steps from the original, but not every one of them is sure-footed.
Control Resonant is another masterclass in storytelling from Remedy Entertainment, but its potential for greatness is hindered by a completely detached open-world experience.
Remedy Entertainment has unveiled Control Resonant. A game with high peaks, but also deep valleys. Check out the review here!
Control Resonant isn't a bad game, but it's not the Control successor that people were left wanting after the original game.
Control Resonant is weird and lovely to behold, as you'd expect for a Remedy game, but there's too much busywork and too little of the narrative special sauce.
Despite some gorgeous visual flourishes and stunning sequences, this is a muddled investigation
Remedy’s action metroidvania RPG is one of the biggest disappointments of the year.
